Yoga: Connecting Mind, Body, and Spirit
Yoga is an ancient, holistic practice rooted in Indian tradition that harmonizes the mind, body, and breath to promote overall well-being. Far beyond physical exercise, it is a path of conscious living that balances the nervous system, cultivates mindfulness, and fosters deep inner peace. To honor this global treasure, the United Nations declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga in 2014, celebrating how the practice unites people worldwide in health and harmony.
The history of yoga spans over 5,000 years, originating from the ancient Vedic period in India where it was recorded in sacred texts like the Rig Veda. It evolved through classical systems, notably codified by Sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, before transforming into the dynamic Hatha and modern practices taught today as a universal science of self-realization.
